I just love all kinds of crafts, would actually describe myself as having craft ADHD because I do get bored with doing the same thing :) I have 3 kids and try to craft for them when I can. I'm a stay-at-home mom these last 3 years and I couldn't be happier about it. Nowadays I'm mostly sewing, I taught myself to sew from looking at tutorials on the internet, so I guess you could say I'm internet-taught or blog-taught if you think about it.
When I had my last little one 7 years ago...I couldn't sew much except a straight line. It was great crafting for Samantha though (she was born on 4 October).
I made use of several tutorials for the dresses, like the Itty Bitty Tutorial from Made By Rae, here's the link
I had so much fun making these dresses that for a while I thought it would be great to have another baby...until I got some sense again LOL
I made her a diaper cake with my first ever sock monkey, it was a lot of fun but I must say, those long legs and tail took forever to stuff... I didn't have any pink thread for the monkey's mouth (red just wasn't going to cut it) - in the end decided to sew a piece of rick-rack and I guess that did the trick.
Of course I had to make some burp cloths as well.. here she is...trying to figure out what it is LOL
Made some cupcakes with cream cheese icing...they kinda flopped..but still tasted good...
and the rest of the spread
Chair for the mother-to-be to sit and open gifts (ignore the silly child on the side - after several tries I gave up trying to take a photo without them)
I asked everyone to bring a onesie and printed several sayings on iron-on paper and each guest could choose what she wanted to add for the baby. This was a big hit - but seeing none of them used this before I had to spend a lot of time with them at the ironing board..my favourite place couldn't you guess... Of course I forgot to take some photo's of the onesies... go figure..
